JPI podcasts shortlisted for industry awards

Two podcasts produced for JPIMedia titles are in contention for the prestigious Publisher Podcast Awards.

The Reset Room, a wellbeing series hosted on NationalWorld, and Scran, The Scotsman’s long-running food and drink podcast, have been nominated for Best Lifestyle Podcast and Best Food and Drink Podcast respectively.

Both shows are produced by Kelly Crichton, as part of the Laudable project.

Launched on NationalWorld last year as the nation emerged from lockdown, The Reset Room is all about helping listeners reach their potential, and look at their life from a fresh perspective.

It’s hosted by Kelly and features resident experts in life coaching and personal development, Amana Walker and Kay Woodburn.

The show covers specific challenges like dealing with toxic work environments, handling pressure and staying motivated during the cold, dark winter months, and takes questions from listeners too.

Scran, meanwhile, is a popular podcast that celebrates the great and good of Scotland’s culinary scene. Hosted by Rosalind Erskine, recent episodes have included a Burns Night special, a trip to the Glemorangie whisky distillery and an interview with the man behind the best fish and chips north of the border.

Speaking about the nominations, Kelly commented: “It’s really rewarding to work across such a wide range of podcasts as I do for JPIMedia and Laudable. Being shortlisted for the Publisher Podcast Awards 2022 for two of those podcasts is a mark of the effort that goes into them by all involved. Some of the biggest and most well established national publishers feature in the nominations for these awards so we are doing really well in terms of quality.

“I work with Rosalind Erskine on Scran and this podcast is such a testament to the food and drinks industry in Scotland it’s never difficult to find interesting people to talk to and stories to share.

“The Reset Room was the first podcast launched by NationalWorld and has proven really popular. We’re already working on the next series which will be out soon. In the meantime we’ll be very much looking forward to the awards ceremony in London at the end of April.”.

The Publisher Podcast Awards take place on 27 April.

You can listen or subscribe to both podcasts on Apple or Spotify, or search for either show on Google to find past episodes.
