Ben Lowry appointed News Letter Editor

Ben Lowry has been deputy editor of the Belfast News Letter since 2013.

Born in America, his family moved back to Northern Ireland in the 1970s when Ben was aged two. He qualified as a barrister in London in the 1990s, and began his career in journalism at News International in 1996, working on the emerging websites of The Sun and The Times. Ben returned to Northern Ireland, working at the Belfast Telegraph from 2000, as a sub-editor, then reporter, and finally Saturday News Letter. He joined the News Letter as news editor in 2007. As deputy editor, Ben had multiple roles, including overseeing the op-ed pages.
